Jeffrey J. Johnson practices in the areas of real estate and business law. Jeff’s practice style and experience are well matched with his interest in real estate projects and advising business owners in achieving their business, investment and personal goals.
Jeff typically assists and advises real estate developers, investors and business owners. His real estate practice includes residential, commercial, multi-family and mixed-use development projects; choice of entity including joint ventures and tenant-in-common ownership structures; sales; leasing; financing; tax planning; and private placement memorandums (PPMs) limited to real estate projects only. As a real estate investor with personal experience in development and cash flow investments, Jeff brings unique perspective to his real estate law practice.
Jeff also has experience in and enjoys representing privately held companies in the creation and implementation of business ownership plans to achieve both business and lifestyle goals. His business practice focuses on negotiation of business sales and acquisitions; choice of entity and business formation; and buy-sell / exit strategy agreements.
Community service is integral to his practice and lifestyle. Jeff’s current and past volunteer service includes: City of Fort Collins Affordable Housing Board (2012 – 2020); Funding Partners For Housing Solutions, Inc. (Board of Trustees 2009 to 2012); Larimer County United Way (Board of Directors 1998 – 2008; Various Committees and Committee Chair Positions 1993 – 1998).
Jeff received his law degree from the University of Colorado, with an emphasis in Taxation, in 1990, and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Montana, in 1987. He is licensed to practice law in Colorado and is a member of the Colorado and Larimer County Bar Associations. He enjoys an active lifestyle including skiing, biking, physical fitness and family activities. Jeff is married to Kathleen and has two children, Kristine and Gavin.
