Jeffrey J. Johnson practices in the area of real estate and business law. His primary focus is real estate which fits his experience and is well matched with his interests. He enjoys working with developers and real estate investors. His experience includes development of mixed-use, multifamily and residential subdivisions; municipal annexations and approvals; retail, office and commercial centers; condominium and in-fill projects; industrial; purchase and sale agreements; acquisition due diligence including title and survey review; and, commercial leasing. These experiences add value in integrating real estate related matters into broader client objectives.
Jeff enjoys mentoring and collaborating with other attorneys and achieves these objectives primarily in business related matters. He represents privately held companies in the creation and implementation of business ownership plans including choice of entity, business formation and operation, and business sales and acquisitions.
Community service is integral to his practice and lifestyle. Jeff’s volunteer service includes City of Fort Collins Affordable Housing Board (2012 – 2020); Funding Partners For Housing Solutions, Inc. (Board of Trustees 2009 to 2012); Larimer County United Way (Board of Directors 1998 – 2008; Various Committees and Committee Chair Positions 1993 – 1998).
Jeff received his law degree from the University of Colorado, with an emphasis in Taxation, in 1990, and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Montana, in 1987. He is licensed to practice law in Colorado and is a member of the Colorado and Larimer County Bar Associations. He enjoys an active lifestyle of daily fitness and free time activities include reading, barbecue, and outdoor oriented activities such as hiking, skiing, biking and family related travel. Jeff is married to Kathleen and has two adult children, Kai and Gavin.
