About Aaron S. Guin
Aaron’s practice focuses on employment law and litigation. He advises employers on risk management, wage and hour compliance, discrimination and harassment claims, and the development of effective workplace policies and practices. He also provides training to managers and supervisors on employee performance management, disability accommodations, and reducing legal risk in day-to-day employment decisions. Aaron has extensive experience handling complex litigation matters from initial assessment through trial and on appeal.
Prior to joining Johnson Dauster & Thorson, Aaron served as a Senior Attorney for the City of Fort Collins, where he advised multiple departments, including Human Resources, Planning and Development, and Safety and Risk Management. He managed the City’s litigation portfolio and directed outside counsel, and regularly advised boards and commissions, including the Planning and Zoning Commission, Land Use Review Commission, Citizen Review Board, and Building Review Commission.
Earlier in his career, Aaron clerked for the Chief Justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court and spent fifteen years as a trial attorney in Nashville, Tennessee.
Aaron earned his B.A., with Honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Graduate of Distinction, and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he contributed as an editor of the Tennessee Law Review.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Larimer County and as Legislative Chair for the Northern Colorado Human Resources Association (an affiliate of SHRM).
